Message for Friday - Pleasing Allah

Focus on pleasing Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala), Regardless of what people say or think about you, just remember that the only One you have to please is Allah.
Ahmad ibn Hanbal (rahimahullah) questions
"If everyone is pleased with you but Allah is not, what have you gained? And if Allah is pleased with you but no one else is, what have you lost?" That sums up Everything we do , we act upon.
Quran says : If Allah should aid you, no one can overcome you; but if He should forsake you, who is there that can aid you after Him? And upon Allah let the believers rely.(3:160)

30th Chief Minister of Karnataka

🔴
Basavaraj Bommai is Karnataka's new Chief minister.
The BJP has selected Basavaraj Bommai as its new chief minister in Karnataka. The decision was taken at the party's legislature meeting in Bengaluru today.

The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) legislature party has elected Basavaraj S Bommai as the new chief minister of Karnataka. Basavaraj Bommai was the home minister in the BS Yediyurappa government and was among the top contenders for the chief minister's post.
Just like the outgoing Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, who resigned on Monday, the new chief minister is also from the politically influential Lingayat community.

When Basavaraj Bommai takes oath as Karnataka chief minister, he will be the latest in the father-son duos to occupy the CM's post.

His father Somappa Rayappa Bommai was the state chief minister during 1988 1989.

S R Bommai was the 11th chief minister of Karnataka, who served for a brief period from August 13, 1988 to April 21, 1989. As the then chief minister Ramakrishna Hegde vacated office, Bommai was elected his successor.

Another father-son duo from Karnataka had also occupied the CM's post. H D Deve Gowda was chief minister from December 1994 to May 1996 and later became the prime minister (June 1996 to April 1997). His son H D Kumaraswamy was CM across two terms.

Following are the other father-son duos who became chief ministers.

In Tamil Nadu, DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi held the chief ministership across five terms between 1969 and 2011. His son Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin is the present CM, having led the party to a huge victory in the Assembly polls this year.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is occupying the state's top post once held by his father YS Rajasekhar Reddy. YS Rajasekhara Reddy held the post across two terms, from 2004-2009. Jagan Mohan Reddy became the CM in May 2019.

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik's father Biju Patnaik was also a chief minister of that state. Biju Patnaik held the state's top job twice, from 1961-1963 and 1990-95. Naveen Patnaik has been in office since 2000, across five terms as CM.

Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu's father Dorji Khandu, who died in a helicopter crash in 2011, was also the chief minister.
Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren's father Shibu Soren was also the state's chief minister. Shibu Soren was the chief minister for three terms while Hemant Soren, a second-term CM, began his current stint in December 2019.
Members of three generations of the Abdullah family have been Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers: Sheikh Abdullah, his son Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah.

Uttar Pradesh: Mulayam Singh Yadav and son Akhilesh Yadav. In the country' most populous state, Mulayam Singh Yadav was in CM's chair across three terms while Akhilesh was in office for a single term, during 2012-17.
Uttarakhand: Vijay Bahuguna, whose father Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna was chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.
Haryana: Devi Lal and his son Om Prakash Chautala

Maharashtra: Shankarrao Chavan and his son Ashok Chavan.
There is also a father-daughter duo to occupy the chief minister's chair. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his daughter Mehbooba Mufti lwere Kashmir chief ministers.
Andhra Pradesh saw N T Rama Rao and his son-in-law N Chandrababu Naidu occupying the CM's chair.

There have also been father-son duos where the father was the chief minister and the son became a deputy chief minister.

Such was the case in Bihar where Lalu Prasad Yadav was the CM and his son Tejaswi Yadav later became the Deputy CM.

In Punjab, Prakash Singh Badal was the CM and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal became the Deputy CM.

Message for Friday - Forgiveness

However deeply you may be hurt by someone, try to forgive. This could just be the act that takes away all your pains on Judgement Day.
Forgive others so that ALLAH will forgive you.
You don't know which act is your ticket to paradise, indeed use that opportunity to forgive someone even if they have hurted too much. It might be your trial that will take you to jannah.

MATTER IN OUR SURROUNDINGS

 1. Define the term (a) latent Heat of Fusion (b) latent heat of  vaporization.

(a) Latent heat of fusion, also known as enthalpy of fusion, is the amount of energy that must be supplied to a solid substance (typically in the form of heat) in order to trigger a change in its physical state and convert it into a liquid (when the pressure of the environment is kept constant). For example, the latent heat of fusion of one kilogram of water, which is the amount of heat energy that must be supplied to convert 1 kg of ice without changing the temperature of the environment (which is kept at zero degrees celsius) is 333.55 kilojoules.

(B) Latent heat is defined as the heat or energy that is absorbed or released during a phase change of a substance. It could either be from a gas to a liquid or liquid to solid and vice versa. Latent heat is related to a heat property called enthalpy.

2. State the effect of (I) Surface area (II) nature of the liquid on the rate evaporation

• Surface area : We know that the evaporation of the liquid only happens from the outermost surface of that liquid. And that's why ,the rate of evaporation is directly proportional to the surface area of the liquid. Which means a liquid with greater surface area will have greater evaporation rate and vice versa.

• Nature of liquid : There are two types of liquid according to the nature of evaporation.
1) Volatile
2) Non Volatile
Volatile liquids have much higher evaporation rate than the non volatile liquids. Volatile liquid can evaporate in very short amount of time even in the room temperature and the non volatile liquid needs external heat application for evaporation.

3. Liquids generally have lower density as compared to solids but ice floats on water. Why?

Though ice is a solid it has large amount of space between its molecules. These spaces are larger as compared to spaces in water molecules. Thus the volume of ice is greater than water. Hence the density of ice is less than of water. A substance with low density than water can float on it.

Chamrajpete Bengaluru

"Chamrajpete"Named after Maharaja Chamarajendra Wodeyar, Chamrajpet or ‘Chamaraja Pete’ as it is pronounced, was created as a residential locality after plague struck the Pete area in the 1880s. Chamrajpet was the first extension of Bangalore and was laid out in 1892. With close proximity with the City Market, Chamarajpet is a mix of cultures. KIMS, Minto Hospital, Uma Theatre were some of the well known landmarks of Chamarajpet. Apart from Tipu’s legacy, Chamrajpet is home to the ancient Rameshwara temple, which was built around 800 years ago, though exact history is unknown, some old artifacts can be seen inside temple premises. Also Chamarajendra Sanskrit College, established in 1885 as Vani Vidyashala is still one of the oldest institutions in Bangalore. Chamarajpet also has a couple of British era churches and a few beautiful mosques making the locality truly multi-cultural. Opposite Minto eye hospital is the old temple of Hanuman, consecrated by Vyasaraja in the 15th century during Vijayanagara rule. The Albert Victor Road on Chamarajpet 1st Main was named after the former Prince of Wales.Minto Anjaneya temple: The main idol of Hanuman was consecrat- ed around 400 years ago by Vyasaraja, the guru of several generations of Vijayanagara kings. Later in the 1900s, a builder discovered the idol near the fort area and installed it opposite to the Minto Hospital. This temple was renovated in 1922 and is believed to be very powerful.'Uma talkies' is been one of the most popular cinema theatres in South Bangalore since 1972. The theatre had played host to a variety of personalities like Dr Rajkumar,Ganesh, Sudeep, among others. 'St Luke’s Church': The first church in Bangalore was built in 1803 in the fort premises called the Fort church. But in the mid 1900s, the need was felt to build a hospital in the fort area so the Maharaja of Mysore allotted a piece of land in Chamrajpet to build a church. This church was completed and dedicated to St Luke in 1935.'St Joseph’s Church': This church was built in 1857 in the memory of Fr Briand and the area around the church is also called Briand Square.
