Mussadiq Bhatkal : The Mousambi Man

#MussadiqBhatkal : The Mousambi Man

In the initial days of  lockdown, many people came forward to feed and help the needy .
Some cooking food , some contributing money to cook , some delivering food , some indentifying the needy areas , people worked in various capacities.
We mercy mission had been into so many verticals like kitchens , cooked food , ration kits , counselling , medical assistance , performing last rites of the dead and many more things under different verticals .,

On one such occasion we met Mussadiqbhai at Nandidurg road , a charged up man , lively  wanting to do so much .
He spotted my Corona warrior tag and said " mujhe bhi ek banao na  "
I jokingly said senior citizen ko nahi dete which was also a fact , a decision taken at dipr .
Little did I know then that this 68yr old man will put many youngsters to shame with his committment level and incredible PR skills
He would just walk through and talk to anyone and everyone giving you a feeling that he knows them for years . Be it the Railway guards , station master , DCP ACP , commissioner or even the Dy CM .
He has so man fans some addressing him as Dada , some uncle .

He (Musaddiq) and Ameen of Arsh had started a kitchen on 25th March for 500 ppl which increased to 2000 the next day and about 6000 delicious high quality  meals were being dished out after a week , This kitchen was a talk of jaymahal till it closed on 25th April , I have personally feasted on the meal , I did not use the word eaten or tasted intentionally .
After 25th April they supported 5 more small kitchens in different areas, Neelsandra, Hegde Nagar, JC Nagar, Boomsandra and MS Palya.
sponsoring around 10k food packets daily,
Later on this initiative was supported by Mercy Mission and Milli Council.

His nephew , Dr Danish was also doing amazing job with ration kits under the tag of the Navayath club . He even did ration kits for 150 Asha workers .

He organised a unique Iftaar on nandidurg road , where any passerby could pick up an iftaar which went on for the whole month of Ramadhan .
Once KSRTC resumed  bus services to take stranded people back home , we suggested "Kuch denge " , he immediately agreed and organised biscuits and water ,
The next day we got rotis and thanks to themomtribe and  BREA we had 100 laoves  of Bread at our disposal each day
The buses were done for three days

Since the First train on 3rd May at Chikbanavar and Malur serving the migrants at different Railway Station.
Mussadiqbhai joined us at various stations sponsoring sanitisers , face masks ,
and biscuits

Once trains commenced at cantonment railway station he was literally the furniture or face of the train team , Our lady volunteers Sabah , Almas with maamu bhanja team of danish and mussadiqbhai did so many innovative things like drawing sheets and crayons, diapers for small kids , Mousambi besides the usual sanitary pads and biscuits .

He pushed us to give the mousambis, the initial reluctance of labour department that the train would be littered did not stand his perseverance .

The concept of chappals was a new addition thanks to br khalefa of Almaal who donated 500 pairs initially , once we exhausted this stock , the girls and mussadiqbhai have continued sponsoring chappals of all sizes and Mousambi's for the passengers each day

He is a part of everyone be it united Sikhs , shrimad group or any NGO within or outside the Mercy Umbrella  ( even RPF and railways too 😜). Literally pushing us to start our day soon and be around till we wind up for the day

This young man can get his way and has so many youth like Aftab , ibrahim of Beijing bites , Mazhar Khadri , Tauseef who will seldom say no to him .

Tauseef and Ismail had organised Food for two days at palace grounds he continued the legacy for another 4 days catering to the police , medical staff , Asha workers , bmtc, home guards  and others at the palace ground where some special cooking for about 400 people happened each day for 6 days on a trot .This was a simple gesture to appreciate the tireless work of  so many people who were tirelessly working with the process of the migrant trains .

Gifting masks , sanitisers ,ordering tea for everyone , ordering food and also biryani for those who seek .
He organised the ACP to join us for an Iftaar on her birthday who could not say no to this fatherly figure .
He also surprised the Commissioner of Police with a special cake which was shaped like the police uniform .

May the Almighty bless hamare Mussadiq uncle to continue his good work !
