Shahru Ramadān 2016/1437

May Allah make this ‪#‎Ramadan‬ the best Ramadan, and bless us with many more Ramadans to come, each one better than the one before!

Ramadan Mubarak to all those preparing to fast.
It is said by Rasool Allah SAWS that
"When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened & the gates of hell are closed & the devils are chained." (Bukhari)
The month of Ramadan is the month of the blessings and forgiveness.Ramadan is like a rare flower, that blossoms once a year, Make the most of it.
May your Ramadan be peaceful and blessed.
Fasting really tests our patience; to feel the hunger and thirst. It should also teach us gratitude and humility. When the fasting person feels the pangs of hunger, he experiences how the poor feel, so he has compassion towards them.
Every year ramadan comes to us as a mercy from Allah to remind us of our priorities and "boost" our faith. Let's not miss this chance.
Don't forget to make intense DUA before ‪#‎Iftaar‬
May the Almighty accept our fast this Ramadan, grant us the ability to do the best charity & help make a difference in someone's life.
Aameen.
Ramadan Time Table for 2016. Bangalore CITY

Shahru Ramadān 2016/1437 Day 12

Prayer changes everything. Don't be anxious; pray instead. If *Allah* is with us, who can be against us?
Let's use ramdhan to gain the habit of *Tahajjud*, Ramadan is the best time to inculcate the habit of praying *tahajjud*. DUA made at this time is not rejected.
Try to wake up with enough time to make Wudhu & pray 2 or 4 Ra'akat *Tahajjud*. Then eat sehri after that.
Weep relentlessly in sujood,
at the time of *Tahajjud*, Imam- al-Shafi'i says that the *Dua* Made at *Tahajjud*
is like an arrow➡️ Which never misses its target.
*Tahajjud* is the prayer of those who seek success & Blessings.
Say ,
*Ya Allah grant us the strengths to battle laziness and sleep, so we may wake up for Tahajjud and Fajr everyday.*
Aameen

Shahru Ramadān 2016/1437 Day 11
This Ramadan Create ease for others and the Almighty will create ease for you. When you give someone charity be thankful to them you may be fixing their *Duniya* (Worldly Problems) , but they are fixing your *Akhirah*.
In this holy month avoid Hopelessness, To give up hope in the Mercy of the Almighty is one of the biggest crimes you can commit.
No sin is too big for *Allah*. Repent this RamadanWe cry, He listens. We're hurt, He heals. We call, He answers. We repent, He forgives. Seek Him for everything. Always.

Shahru Ramadān 2016/1437 Day 10
*Ramadan* is full of enormous spiritual wealth, treasure chests of hasanat and rewards given to us on a golden plate! Make use of it everyday every second.
*Imagine you're given a month to spend in a goldmines and you come out with this Copper*
Won't you feel disappointed, perhaps stupid? That's the metaphor for those who go into Ramadan and get very little out of it.
Ramadan does not come to change our schedule. It comes to change our hearts.
This Ramadan May Allah forgive us, cleanse our tongues and purify our hearts. Ameen

Shahru Ramadān 2016/1437 Day 9
*When someone is rude to you during fasting, say: "I am fasting, I am fasting." (Bukhari)*
Do not indulge into anger acts during fasting, Be wary of those who are good at making others look bad, tarnishing their reputation & spreading rumours. It's a disease. *Pray for them*.
First ashra of *Ramadan* is almost over. Focus more on tilawat and dua, *Don't Miss Taraweeh* Remind yourself it’s a once in a year opportunity!
Rasool Allah (Saws) says, "Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."
This *Ramadan*, learn to break the shackles that tie you to this world and strengthen your trust in Allah [swt]

Shahru Ramadān 2016/1437 Day 7
*_"Be for Almighty as He wants & He shall be for you, more than what you want." Ibnul Qayyim_*
Dear all
Allah singled out fasting for Himself from all other good deeds because of its honoured status before the almighty.
As we go thru the Month of Mercy we shall certainly
Increase in remembrance of Allah, indulge in seeking of forgiveness, ask for Paradise & protection against the Fire, especially when fasting.
To the extent avoid excessive socialising after Taraweeh as the nights of Ramadan is more precious to be wasted.
Don't waste time playing games during the day. Rather, please Allah by increasing in your worship and dhikr of him.
Humble request for Duas

Shahru Ramadān 2016/1437 Day  6
It is our responsibility to protect our fast, and protect us from that deeds which can damage our fast in *Ramadan*
We should be aware of our activities day and night, Don't allow anyone to provoke &
anger you while fasting.
Protect your fast. Consciously remind yourself that tests are aplenty in *Ramadan*
May *Allah* help us to be aware of Him all the time and give us more patience while fasting.
May *Allah* SWT keep us all steadfast in the beautiful month of Ramadan.
*Aameen*

Shahru Ramadān 2016/1437 Day  5
*What’s the difference between Maghfirah (مغفرة ) and 'Afuw (عفو )?*
*Maghfriah*: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin but the sin will still be registered on your book of deeds. Maghfirah is Allah’s forgiveness for your sin but on the Judgment Day it will be written on your record, Allah will ask you about it but HE won’t punish you because of it
*'Afuw*: is for Allah to forgive you for the sin and delete it from your book of deeds as if it did not happen. ‘Afuw is Allah’s pardon for your sin, it will be completely erased from your record and Allah won’t ask you about it on Judgement day
*This is why our Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said that, this is the best Duaa to make on Laylatul Qadr:*
*"Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annee"*
(Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi)
*O Allah, You are The One Who pardons greatly, and You love to pardon, so pardon me.)"*
So make sure you read this dua all the time and as much as you can. Make it one of your daily athkaar.
Imagine that you are standing on the day of Judgment being held accountable for your deeds, and you're not guaranteed your entry to Jannah.
*Suddenly you find that you have mountains of Hasanat (rewards) in your record*
Do you know from where these mountains of rewards come from?
Because in the Dunya you kept saying : *”SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi SubhanAllah al ‘Adhim”*
_Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:_ *"Two words are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, they are loved by Al Rahman, (The Most Merciful. One):*
سُبْحَانَ اللّهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ ، سُبْحَانَ اللّهِ الْعَظِيمِ - *SubhanAllahi wa biHamdihi, Subhan-Allahi 'l-`adheem (Glory be to Allah, and Praise, Glory be to Allah, the Supreme)"*
(📚Bukhari , Muslim)
Can you imagine how much your reward will be multiplied if you share this information about the virtue of this remembrance with your friends and they keep saying it *(SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi SubhanAllah Al Adheem)* because you guided them to do good?
*Be the One Who Guides Others to Good Deeds.*

Shahru Ramadān 2016/1437 Day  4

After the Ramadan there are two roads you can take
- Remember me and I will remember you!
*Quran 2:152*
They forgot Allah so He forgot them
*Quran 9:67*
Make an intention to continue all the good you are doing in Ramadan after Ramadan too!
"If you make the Almighty ALLAH your priority in Ramadan, then make sure He remains your priority after Ramadan. Make that positive change!"
May Allah accept all our good deeds, keep yourself connected to ALLAH.
Make it habit of indulgence in intense Dua,Don't ever give up hope. u can't say you've tried everything if you've never prayed in the last third of the night.
*Prepare yourself now for last 10 Nights*

Shahru Ramadān 2016/1437 Day  3

Make the most of every day during Ramazan. Even in this blessed month tomorrow isn't promised.
Have you ever wondered why we're happy in #Ramazan?!
— Because we do what we were created to do.
Goals for us this #Ramazan are simple:
● Avoid Hell
● Win Jannah
● Heart full of Qur'an
● Personality based on Qur'an & Sunnah

We all were waiting for Ramadan to come and heal us, because we were torn in places only our Imaan can fix. (with the help of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala)
Start your day with reciting or listening to a portion of the Qur'an. This will fill your day with blessings from Allah
Subhanahu wa Ta'ala
*Don't count the days, make the days count.*
Ramadan isn't about changing your eating habits, it's about changing your heart and affections toward Allah and His commandments. Which shall take us towards the stage of Imaan required.
Fasting is not about a diet of burning calories. It’s about burning ego, pride and sins.
As we pass through this amazing month of Ramadan , clean your heart, Get rid of all grudges, anger & hurt we have towards family, Colleagues & others.
Say, Ya Allah! Support me and help me, and do not let others overpower me; guide me and make the following of Your Commands easy for me.
Humble Request for Dua

Shahru Ramadān 2016/1437 Day  2
The word Ramadhan consists five letters,
ra‘, meem, dhad, alif, noon.
The *ra‘* is derived from rahma (mercy),
The *meem* from mujazat (recompense), mahabba (love) & minna (favour),
The *dhad* from dhaman lilthawab (assurance of reward), The *Alif* from ulfa (affinity) and qurb (nearness)
&
The *Noon* from nur (light) and nawal [the receiving (of grace)]
Thus,If you give this month its due and act properly during it, these things will come to you from the True One
*ALLAH*
(‘Azza wa Jall).
They will come to you in this world as strengthening and enlightening for your hearts,
and as favour and receiving of grace, outwardly and inwardly.
In the hereafter there will come to you what no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard & has never occurred to any human heart.

🌙🌟🌟🌙🕌

Shahru Ramadān 2017/1438 Day  1
Ramzan is a holy month dedicated to prayer, introspection and fasting during the sunlight hours.
Here are some things you must do for #Ramzan:
Eat in moderation - The breaking of the fast should traditionally include dates which provide a burst of much-needed energy. Include fibre-rich foods that will digest slowly and release energy throughout the day. Make room for vegetables, lentils and whole grains along with fruits such as apricots, prunes and figs.
Get adequate rest - Get a good night's rest during Ramzan. You should ideally sleep for 6 to 8 hours a day. You might not be able to accomplish that during the night, since you have to up before the crack of dawn for Suhoor. Stay cool and rest during the hottest part of the day to avoid dehydration and thirst.
Stay hydrated - It is easy to fall victim to the heat during Ramzan. Drink at least 8 glasses of water from Iftar to Suhoor. Keep track of the water you drink by using a measured water bottle. Include soups, milk and fruit juices in your meals along with plenty of fruits and vegetable. Try and avoid caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea or cola as these are diuretic and can lead to fluid loss.
Exercise lightly - Your fasting should not be an excuse to give up your exercise. Rather than a grueling regimen at the gym, opt for light exercise or walking that do not tire out the body, yet allow you to relax and de-stress.In shaa Allah all of you will have the most blessed and beneficial #Ramadan

The could have beens of the last two years?

in this blog,
I present the article of
Dr Mohammad Manzoor Alam

Chairman, Institute of Objective Studies, New Delhi (India)
General Secretary, All India Milli Council
wriiten on 2 Years Modi's Governance

Two years are now solidly behind Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of India. It is a moment of reckoning, time to question what he has delivered over these two years, how his team has functioned as cabinet ministers and junior ministers.

To begin with, we will ignore the team as the praise and blame lies with the PM alone, who is nearly a solo player. Most of the team is kind of a decoration, the individuals in which do not have a mind of their own.
A generous appraisal of the government’s performance merely gets it pass marks as most things that could have been done were not, and the government has already spent half of its time in office. We count only four years’ window for a government to perform as the fifth is spent gearing up for elections.

Thus the government has already played its first innings without any distinction. These years went by swiftly in bombastic speeches, announcing grand schemes, missions and campaigns with very little to show for those tall promises and high-sounding words. To that we shall come later.

First let us talk about certain things that looked promising. The most visible is that no visible corruption is evident at the ministerial level. One reason is that ministers are watched closely by the supremo and all major steps have to be cleared by the PMO, which leaves little scope for ministerial corruption.

However, we must also keep in mind that the larger scams in the UPA’s ten years came in the last two years. Eight years before that were clean. Thus the final word on this cannot be pronounced after two years of Modi government.

There seems to be some real potential for enhancing transparency in a relatively limited area of financial cash transactions. Cash transactions of over Rs. 10,000 have been stopped and all such transactions have to go through the banks. That makes it easier for Income Tax and other government departments to keep a tab on money and its movements, increase transparency in business transactions, widen the tax net and curb black money.

But the other side of its is that the volume of “currency in circulation” has grown far larger than expected, which means that a lot of people have taken out a substantial amount of money from their bank accounts and are using them in cash transactions. This is going to be a problem and the government has to encourage people to put money back in their banks.

For increasing its revenue the government has put one per cent tax on gold, silver and jewellery sales in the last budget. This is one area where a huge part of untaxed wealth in India is stored. A tab is kept on the large income of jewelers through the nominal one per cent tax.

The purchaser of gold and silver jewellery has also been brought under the scanner. On any purchase of Rs. 2 lakh the PAN of the purchaser is recorded for the later use of Income Tax and other government departments. Thus both the buyer and seller are placed under scanner to prevent black money circulation.

However, these steps look smaller compared to what BJP had promised in its election campaign. It had told people that the black money stacked in banks abroad would be brought back to India as soon as NDA came to power. The party had promised Rs. 15 lakh would be deposited in every Indian’s bank account from the money thus recovered. Two years on we have not got even Rs. 15 so far.

Much of the undoing comes from the highfalutin, unrestrained speech of BJP leaders. They think that they can get away by making tall promises and befooling people. They do not seem to realise that people remember things they are promised and they get frustrated and angry if they think they have been cheated.

Most of the last two years of the PM were lost in international travel, announcement of even more grandiose (and unworkable) schemes, missions and projects. We have not seen any of the 100 smart cities projects taking off. Understandably, these have to be satellites of big cities already existing like today’s NOIDA, Greater NOIDA, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Faridabad around Delhi. None of these is a smart city promised in the 100 new smart cities by the Prime Minister.

A smart city is an energy-efficient city, safe city, smoothly functioning city. It does not waste water. Much of the toilet flushing, irragating of lawns and gardens, car-washing and a number of other non-potable water use requirements are met with rain water harvested through building drains all over the city buildings and stored in spacious underground tanks. Most of the street lighting and a substantial part of domestic use electricity is generated by mandatory solar panels on all buildings, thus saving the environment from emissions from coal-fired and gas-fired electricity-producing units.

In such cities, there are separate roads for millions of cyclists going to work on cycles, other safe roads for pedestrians and minimum number of motorised vehicles, many of them running on battery, hydrogen, CNG, electricity, even solar panels along with hybrid vehicles using all these, thus reducing fossil fuel use and cutting down on city pollution.

In such cities there are no real commuters. Most people go to office within a walking or cycling distance as most or all work places are located close to residential clusters.

Much of the life in such cities is digitised and automated right from kitchen to bedroom. People consult their doctors on internet and get tests and prescription via net. They just walk to the drug store a couple of blocks away. Even those stores have physicians to look after urgent needs. Being shifted to the most well-equipped specialty hospital is a matter of 10 to 15 minutes. There are no hassles of bribery to the tax man, to the traffic police, to the thanedar. People live a meaningful, healthy happy life. It needs technology, capital, a different work culture. None of it is visible so far.

All this will certainly not materialise till goonda attacks on Muslims in the name of beef is not stopped. It will not materialise as long as anti-Muslim, anti-Christian riots to mobilise Hindu voters are not stopped. It will not materialise till hate speech and hate crimes against religious minorities are not stopped. It will not materialise till foul-mouthed, abusive, ill-bred and ill-mannered people like Sadhvi Prachi, Sadhu Sakhshi Maharaj, Yogi Adityanath and their loutish bands are not brought to book for their brazen slander and hate-mongering. For the government to succeed the last thing it needs is the creation of social ill will by men and women, who are, as ill luck has it, MP and ministers.

Reliving the Ottoman Legacy

by Dr Mohammad Manzoor Alam
Chairman, Institute of Objective Studies, New Delhi (India)

After a couple of recent visits to Turkey, I have come to the firm conclusion that the country is reliving its grand Ottoman legacy under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdogan with its economic growth, conservative democracy, religious tolerance, national reconciliation and international peace, and solidarity with the oppressed. This, to me, is the gist of Erdogan vision. I would like to talk about it in simple terms, without recourse to too much statistics or extensive quotes.
President Erdogan’s Justice and Development party has fostered a vibrant culture of entrepreneurship, business innovation, industriousness and economic growth. The Anatolyan heartland today pulsates with thousands of new businesses that are evocatively called “Anatolyan tigers”.

The country could withstand the global economic devastation of 2008 without much damage. As the dominos of West Asia fell after the Arab Spring, and the heroes that emerged were soon demolished in turn, Turkey remained steady. The most visible achievement on the economic front is its control over rampant inflation.

Turkey has a per capita GDP of $ 10,482, which in PPP terms works out to $19,610. The growth rate is 4 percent per year, which between 2002 and 2012 was an average of 5.2 percent per year.

The government has been able to lower inflation from 30 percent in 2002 to 5 percent now. The rate of unemployment in 2013 was 9 percent, compared favourably to Spain (25.9 percent), France (10.8 percent) and Italy (12.7 percent). Among 50 well to do countries it stands 17th. That is no mean achievement.

Unlike different versions of democracy in other Muslim countries, the polity here does not call itself Islamic democracy or by other religious denominational nomenclature. The rule of Justice and Development Party defines itself as “conservative democracy” evoking some qualities of the British conservative system or its equivalent America’s Republican politics. Whether, beyond this image evoked by this term there is some substance similar to the UK and US conservatism is yet to be understood.

That this member of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation is not out of step with the United States and European Union is clear from policies on Iran, Saudi Arabia and Syria. Its request for EU membership is under consideration for the last five decades. However, its rating has gown and it is at a closer stage of European integration.

There is often an attempt by the Turkish leadership not to define itself too closely as an Islamic entity or as the successor state of Ottoman Turkey. However, it does not run away from its largely Islamic heritage either. President Erdogan’s association with men like Rashid Ghanoushi, Mohammad Morsi and Khalid Mashal worries some people endlessly.

However, the fact remains that the Turkish leadership has always advised caution and restraint to Muslim leaders. When President Morsi was in his last days of power, international media said the Turkish leadership did not agree with his unilateral alterations in Egyptian Constitution, without reference to parliament or the Egyptian people. President Erdogan had advised him caution. Ignoring that advice turned out to be costly.

The Turkish leadership, which sees itself as a force for moderation, peace and security in the region, also disturbs Islamophobes with its long association with Muslim Brotherhood. Despite their association, the Turkish leadership has matured in democratic ways and thus does not threaten others, while the less sophisticated style of the Brotherhood looks menacing to opponents.

Despite the democratic, Western-style refinement, it does not shy away from its Ottoman heritage, or the Islamic religio-cultural affinities of its majority. It has been the only close Muslim ally of Israel. However, it had the moral courage to tell Israel at Davos that it had to stop pulverising the Palestinians. Close to my home, India, the Turkish prime minister and his wife came with a plainload of relief material to the oppressed Rohingyas of Myanmar, consoled them and told the host government to stop persecution. No other leadership would have done it as saving persecuted Muslims would have branded them as pro-Muslim. All this needs courage of conviction.

Turkey remains a beacon of light for peace and security in West Asia.

That the contemporary Turkey is a force for moderation, religious toleration, national reconciliation and international peace is commonly known. With President Erdogan the attempts at internal reconciliation with Kurds has grown. Islam being common to both, the divergent ethnic dimension has been blunted even though some people who do not like attempts at rapproachment are stepping up terror attacks.

The same holds true for reconciliation attempts with the old rival Greece and accommodation in Cyprus. These are some clear achievements on the international front.

All said and done, Turkey remains as neutral in other people’s religious affairs as the Quran demands: “There is no compulsion in religion”. This stance is a continuity from earliest Ottoman days when they did not interfere with people’s faith in the vast empire, and are lauded for that till date.

That acceptance of religious pluralism continues even though President Erdogan sometimes sees Turkey as a model for the rest of the Muslim world. On June 12, 2011 he said in his victory speech: “Sarajevo won today as much as Istanbul. Beirut won as much as Izmir. Damascus won as much as Ankara. Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, the West Bank, Jerusalem won as much as Diyarbakir”.

To him a Muslim identity is not inconsistent with world brotherhood.

Let me declare

President Erdogan is a man of vision and immense capability for statesmanship. Every visionary and statesman has to face huge challenges. The president has to strike a balance

a) between high economic growth rate and distributive justice
b) between ethics of disagreement and constructive engagement
c) between higher education (علم نافع), illiteracy and ignorance; and
d) the utilisation of optimum capacity of women on the basis of equality for making an ideal society in the world.

Let me make a statement

A task without a vision is drudgery,
A vision without a task is a dream,
A vision with a task is but the hope of the world

Let us hope President Erdogan succeeds in his vision and mission of making a role model for humane society in the world.
