This is a novel written by salman rushdie in 1988.once AGAIN ITS IN LIME LIGHT AND PEOPL ARE supporting him in the name of freedom of speech and expression without knowing what he has written in it.below are few points taken from this book:
1.prophet Abrahim [as] is called a bastard
2.the name of prophet muhammed [saw] is written as mohound which is a derogatery term for holy prophet used by christian crusaders.
3.we muslims believe that wives of holy prophet are ummul momineen,that is, mother of the believers and salman rushdie compares them to prostitutes. astagferullah.
4,prophet muhammed saw is compared to brothel owner...
5.salman rushdie also mentions companions with name change having problem with wat prophet saw is saying and even goes to mention that the goddes al lat comes to visit him.

ANSWER TO WHAT EXACTLY SATANIC VERSES IS?
gharaniq incident[satanic verses incident,the name satanic verses is given by william muir a christian orientalist in 19th century] is an incident that some people urge happened in the lifetime of prophet muhammed saw,the story goes like this:
Holy prophet saw longed to converst his neighbourd and kinsmen of mecca to islam,so,as holy prophet saw was reciting sura an najm satan tempted him to say few lines which were against Islamic monotheism after verse 20.the lines were:
[Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-‘Uzzá
and Manāt, the third, the other?
These are the exalted gharāniq, whose intercession is hoped for.]
………asking for intercession of al lat ,al uzza and ak mannat ,three pagan goddesses ,gharaniq is a bird.
The meccans were overjoyed and soon a mass conversion took place.meccans stoped persecution of muslims.hearing this muslim who had migrated to abyssynia came back.But soon angel Gabriel came with the verses abrogating the earlier mentioned verses,these were:22:52
Never sent We a messenger or a prophet before thee but when He recited (the message) Satan proposed (opposition) in respect of that which he recited thereof. But Allah abolisheth that which Satan proposeth. Then Allah establisheth His revelations. Allah is Knower, Wise.
prophet took the verses back and soon the persecution started again.
And then verse 53:21 was revealed which totally belitteled these goddesses.

Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-'Uzza
And Manat, the third, the other?
Are yours the males and His the females?
That indeed were an unfair division!
They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath revealed no warrant. They follow but a guess and that which (they) themselves desire. And now the guidance from their Lord hath come unto them.
…the story is related by Ibn Ishaq (761-767),[whose book seerate rasul allah is lost but reports from this book survive in books of ibn hisham and tabari,the book is now created from different sources and translated by guillime] Ibn Sa'd and Al-Waqidi,……………..theese are the writers of 8th and 9th century.
NOW LET US EXAMINE THIS STORY:
!. Surat al-Najm (in which the disputed verses were purported to belong) was revealed in one whole in the tenth year of the Hijra.
- The First Hijra to Abyssinia took place in the fifth year, between Rajab and Shawwal.
- How then could the revelation of Surat al-Najm and the subsequent events - prompting the rumors of mass conversion in Mecca - that all took place in the tenth year, be a cause for the return of the Abyssinian Emigrants in the fifth?
2.THERE ARE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE STOTY .the story that I mentioned is a collection of all of them.
3.the chain of narration to this incident is incomplete

LET US EXAMINE ITS NARRATORS.
IBN SAAD,was secretary of al waqidi.Al waqidi created stories to gain ranks at abbasid court,he is unreliable as the following scholars say:
1.imam Shafie ra[a contemporary scholar and founder of shafie school of thought] says that"the books written by Al-Waqidi are nothing but heaps of lies"
2. Ahmad ibn Hanbal ra [founder of hambli school of thought]said of him: "He is a liar."
3.Al-Bukhari and Abu Hatim al-Razi said: "Discarded." Ibn `Adi said: "His narrations are not retained, and their bane comes from him." Ibn al-Madini said: "He forges hadiths." Imam Al-Dhahabi said: "Consensus has settled over his debility.
IBN HISHAM DID NOT MENTION THID INCIDENT in his book ,al tabari on the very first page mentions that all the blame goes to ttansmitters who transmitted,now the only case left is of ibn ishaq.there is a difference of opinion if the incident was realy present in his book.
Let us see who was ibn ishaq.
1.he was thrown out of medina for relating a false hadith from a women whom he never met.
2.imam Malik ra founder of malili school of thought,called him dajjal[satan]and says he took stories from decendents of defeated jewish tribes.imam malik also notices shitte tendencies in his work.guilleme also notices this.imam hajar askalani also mentions his stories as weak
3. ibn Sallām al-Jumaḥī and ibn al-Nadīm, said that ibn Isḥāq knowingly included forged poems in his biography,attributed poems to persons not known to have written any poetry.
4.imam al-Dhahabī. noted that in addition to the forged (makdhūb) poetry, Ibn Isḥāq filled his sīra with many fabricated reports.
5. Guillaume notices that Ibn Isḥāq frequently uses a number of expressions like HE alleged ,only gof knows if its true etc etc.
6. Ahmad ibn Hanbal,ra rejected his narrations on all matters related to fiqh
7.in Islamic jurisprudence he is categorized as mudallis that is, he never named his teacher...and the list goes on
ONLY FOR THE SAKE OF ARGUMENT let's actually say that this whole incident is true and actually happened. This in no way disproves the Prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him). It actually does nothing but convince even more that he truly was a Prophet from God! The funny thing is that if the Quran was truly authored by Satan as many critics claim then why on earth would Satan abrogate the 'satanic revelations' of Surah 53 and then expose himself? If the Quran is truly inspired by Satan then Satan should have just let people believe in that Satanic revelation. If the Quran is truly authored by Satan then why would Satan only bother to expose himself on that specific verse? The truth of the matter is that this is absolute nonsense. If we want to accept the story we could only accept this conclusion……….
