Election Commission Revises Karnataka Electoral Roll Revision Schedule, Final Voter List on October 19
The notification, signed by Sandeep Kumar, Under Secretary, Election Commission of India, states that the revision has been made following a request from the Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer. The updated schedule aims to ensure a comprehensive and error-free revision of the state's electoral rolls before the publication of the final voters' list.
According to the revised programme:
- House-to-house verification by Booth Level Officers (BLOs): June 30 to August 8, 2026
- Rationalisation/Re-arrangement of Polling Stations: August 8, 2026
- Draft Electoral Roll Publication: August 17, 2026
- Period for Filing Claims and Objections: August 17 to September 16, 2026
- Disposal of Claims and Objections: August 17 to October 15, 2026
- Final Publication of Electoral Roll: October 19, 2026
The Commission has instructed the Karnataka election authorities to widely publicise the revised schedule through all available media platforms. Political parties are also to be informed officially to facilitate greater public participation in the revision process.
Election officials have urged eligible citizens to verify their details once the draft electoral roll is published and to submit claims or objections, if necessary, within the stipulated period to ensure inclusion in the final electoral roll.
The revision exercise is a crucial step in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the electoral database ahead of future elections in Karnataka.
