These traditional paper sizes are mostly of British origin. They are quite obsolete in Britain today, replaced by the modern ISO paper sizes. Some of them are still used, at least informally, in the U.S.This size information is based on Matt Roberts and Don Etherington, Bookbinding and the conservation of books: a dictionary of descriptive terminology.
