A former minister in Manmohan Singh government and a senior congress leader Jitin Prasada who hails from Uttar Pradesh joined the BJP on Wednesday at the party’s headquarters in Delhi. The move is seen as a shot in the arm for the BJP ahead of the state elections in 2022. Whether JitinPrasadaswitch makes any dent to Congress or benefits BJP substantially remains to be seen, but it does point to young leaders seeing a bleak future for themselves politically in the grand old party. it shall be recalled that Years ago his father, Jitendra Prasada, challenged Sonia Gandhi in the election for Congress president’s post in 2000. A person who was relegated to the 3rd place in 2019 Lok Sabha is certainly not being brought to the BJP for his electoral credentials. In UP's caste politics matrix & Brahmin Vs Thakur equation, there is more than what meets the eye in Jitin Prasada's joining the BJP.
